Textbooks:

GMMS offers students package discounts on textbooks required for the program.  The estimated cost is approximately $200 - $400.  Details on textbooks will be given to students at the time of acceptance into the GMMS program.

Materials and Equipment:

It is highly recommended that students purchase a massage table, yet is not necessary for successful completion of the program.  There are numerous companies and websites that sell portable massage tables in a range of prices. The average cost for a massage table is between $100 - $500.

Students will need a face cradle and bolster for their out of class massage practice, a portable carrying case is also recommended. A flip top bottle of unscented oil will be provided at the start of each semester.

Students need to have 2 sets of twin sized massage sheets for the first semester, and 2 more sets for the second semester (to be able to complete 4 consecutive practice sessions at the student clinic).

Details on the costs and how to purchase these items will be discussed in person at the beginning of the program.

Tuition and Payment:

The tuition for the 630 hour GMMS certificate program is $8,300.

A $30 non-refundable application fee is due at the time of application for the GMMS program.  There is a $500 non-fundable registration fee payable upon acceptance into the GMMS program.  Full payment (less financial assistance*) of balance due is required 7 days prior to the first official start day of the GMMS program. Students may pay via cash, check, or credit card.  There is a 5% discount (for non-grant/scholarship funds) by paying all (or part) of the remaining tuition balance ($7,800) with cash or check.

*Any funds provided by grants paid directly to the GMMS constitute financial assistance.

gmms sess2024 05All debts need to be paid to the GMMS 7 days prior to start of classes, unless approved in writing by the Director of the GMMS.  A late charge of $10.00/day shall be assessed for all payments of tuition (except financial assistance) received after the official date the balance is due. If a balance is not paid in full by the end of the first month, the student will regrettably be terminated as a student of the GMMS and may no longer attend classes.  Students will not be able to receive a certificate of completion or transcript from the GMMS until all financial obligations are paid in full.

VERMONT STUDENT ASSISTANCE CORP. (VSAC) provides grants, loans, scholarships, career and education planning, and general information about how to get the education you want. Click here to visit their website and find out if Financial Aid may be available to you through VSAC.

Returned Checks:

A fee of $20 plus bank charges will be assessed for handling each NSF check. Check writing privileges will be denied to anyone who has written more than one NSF check to the GMMS.

Refunds:

A student has the right to cancel the enrollment agreement and obtain a refund of tuition paid. To cancel this agreement, the student must submit a written request to the GMMS.  Refunds will be processed within 10 business days of receipt of the written request and in accordance with the following refund policy:

Cancellation date = Refund Percentage
1st day of class - day 7* = 80%

Day 8-14 = 70%
Day 15- 21 = 65%
Day 22- 28 = 50%
Day 29- 55  = 25%

After 8th week (56 days) = No refund

*This refund schedule begins the first official day of class; which is defined as the first day classes meet and not the first day of class attendance by the student.  Subsequent days count from day 1 of class onward with each calendar day.

No refunds in tuition will be given to students whose enrollment is cancelled as a result of illegal activities including but not limited to: sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, human trafficking, violent crimes, or other activities that could lead to felony convictions.

GMMS reserves the right to cancel the enrollment of a student based on ethical violations, with tuition reimbursement in accordance with the refund policy.

Leave of Absence:

Students who have extenuating circumstances, including but not limited to, personal injury, death of a family member, physical or mental illness, may request a leave of absence in writing from the Director of the GMMS.  Upon official approval, a student may take the leave of absence, and later resume the GMMS program in the subsequent year with application of tuition previously paid.
